Let us begin by saying that we are absolutely NOT pro handlers, by any means! We are probably closer to the other end of the spectrum, but do enjoy being in the ring with our dogs whenever possible. We have exeperience both using handlers to show our dogs as well as blundering through it ourselves. Along the way we've tried to learn, tried to never make the same mistake twice and have actually finished a few champions in the process. No matter how many books you read, or how many people you talk to, sometimes there is no substitute for experience! Our goal here is to encourage you and to pass along a few of the more practical tips that you probably won't see published in anyone's book. Some info may seem extremely basic to you old-time pro's out there, but sometimes a beginner doesn't even know what questions to ask. So ....here we go!

> What does a dog show look like?
We know....just find a local show and go! But you would be surprised at how different a dog show can be from one venue to another. Yes, all of the basics are the same, but indoor vs. outdoor, big show facility vs. glorified barn (yes really...they aren't all like what you may see on TV!), benched vs. unbenched.
